This week, Jessica and Laurraine are exploring Greece with Air Canada Vacations, and what an incredible start to the trip it’s been! ✨

Day 1: After arriving in Athens, we headed to the Titania Hotel for a delicious rooftop lunch before checking into our rooms. We then set out on foot to explore the area around Panepistimio, taking in the beautiful National Library, the University of Athens, Syntagma Square and the Greek Parliament.

Day 2: We were up bright and early for a city tour, starting with the incredible Acropolis. 😍 This is truly one of those sights you have to experience in person pictures just don’t do it justice! We learned so much about Greek history before visiting the Acropolis Museum and continuing our tour to the Panathenaic Stadium, home of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. We wrapped up the day wandering through the charming Plaka neighbourhood for a little souvenir shopping. 🛍️

🏃‍♀️ Fun fact of the day! Did you know the word marathon comes from Greece? It’s linked to the ancient Greek legend of Pheidippides, who was said to have run from Marathon to Athens to announce a military victory. And Nike? That name comes from the ancient Greek goddess of victory! 🏆
Between the incredible history, beautiful sights and absolutely amazing food, Athens has been a wonderful introduction to Greece. We’re soaking it all in and can’t wait to see what the next stop has in store!
