Another Cuba review. This is from beginning of April from repeat clients to the Iberostar Selection Varadero. So many great photos, it was hard to choose what to share.

The resort is great! Here are my pro’s and con’s

Con’s
Building 17 is starting to be a little dated with the old colors ( but they did say that’s the last building to get updated and will be next year)
Seemed to have less staff overall
Entertainment team are all new and not as many so you didn’t have them interacting as much as before
(if you had never been before, you more than likely wouldn’t even notice this, so maybe not even a con)
Rooms had a faint musty smell when we first got there, I would assume because they have not had full capacity lately so rooms might not have been used recently

Pro’s
Still high end resort
Super friendly
Clean
Make a mean iced coffee and Spanish hahaha
Grounds are beautiful and very well maintained
Food was very good! Lots and lots of choices in the buffet
(we didn’t go to any of the ala-carte, we prefer the buffet)
They had a special dinner by the beach for return customers that was very nice (lobster)
Beach was beautiful, white sand and very clean, one day it was quite windy and a lot of seaweed was washing up and by the next morning they had it all cleaned up.
Easy to check in and they were great about a late check out

Not sure what else to say other than cant wait to go next year!

Client review from Gran Muthu Imperial Cayo Guillermo from April 2025.

The trip was great! So many people "warned" us of the lack of food for the resort, so I think with that on my mind I had my expectations lowered. However, that was a good thing because this resort did not lack in food. It's possible that our group is maybe just not picky eaters.

The buffet was the same every day, but it had lots of variety. Chicken, pork, beef. Pasta, rice, vegetables. Fish. Stir fry. Fruit and desert. We booked 1 night at an a la cart, but the food served was basically what was from the buffet so we didn't bother booking anymore again
The snack bar (conveniently next to our building) had poutine - The kids ate there every day for a snack and loved it
There was a food hut by the one pool that had very good fish and chips

We were on the main floor of building 9 and our view was of the pools and ocean. I have never actually stayed at a resort where I got an ocean view room, that didn't require an upgrade or extra cost!

The beach is beautiful; however, the day we decided to go there was high winds! Sitting in the sand while it was blowing everywhere was an experience but that's no fault to the resort.

I wanted to try Cuba as I had never been, and I am glad I picked this place. It was affordable and perfect for the kids. I probably won't go back to Cuba anytime soon as I do really enjoy Dominican the best, and need to explore more places, but for anyone wanting to try out Cuba this resort was a good one!

Clients sailed with Princess Cruises on a 7 Day Western Coastal cruise. Los Angeles to Vancouver.

The itinerary was interesting and fun hence why we picked it, but Princess didn’t live up to its past experience. Good memories were made and that’s what matters the most!!!

A little behind on sharing client trip reviews.

Clients returned Saturday from Lopesan Costa Bavaro Resort on Saturday.

The resort was perfect for us. We spend alot of time at the splash pad. It was on the furthest point from the beach, about an 17ish min walk if you were to go end to end. There were shaded chairs and a bar cart nearby (which was a total perk).

The grounds were gorgeous! Really enjoyed all the green space. That being said, if someone has mobility issues it may be tricky getting around as there aren’t any carts.

Food was great, buffets had a lot of choice and it didn’t feel like you were seated in a cafeteria. The a la carts were fantastic too. No one got sick! Although we also took travel meds beforehand.

Our swim up pool — what a highlight. We lucked out on the room, 1334, as the tropical growth around the pool made it more private. There were some swim ups that did not have this and it would feel like you were on display to everyone walking by.

I would say if you have clients that really love a good beach, this may not be the right spot for them. There is a very small swimming area and there are lots of loud boats flying around, and also anchor right in the hotel beach area. At any given time there were about 60 boats.

We did an excursion booked through the hotel to Echo Park, which was about 1/2 hr away. Highly recommend for families or anyone really. It was a 4 hr trip and we horseback rode, got to handle tonnes of animals (including monkeys) saw incredible views and had some time by a river. Truly outstanding.
