We are off to our earliest season yet! Waterton Shoreline Cruises will be providing cruises @ 10:00am and 2:00pm every weekend throughout the month of April. (April 11th, 12th, 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th.)

Come enjoy some of the most spectacular mountain scenery the Rocky Mountains have to offer in the Worlds first International Peace Park. Passengers get to view majestic towering cliffs, unique geological formations, beautiful waterfalls, snow clad mountain peaks and the International Border. Bring your camera; tour boats make photographic and wildlife stops. Bald eagle, bear, moose, deer, mountain sheep and mountain goats are often seen.

The cruise is accompanied by an informative and entertaining commentary given by experienced tour guides. The duration of the cruise is 1 and ¼ hours, and is the (Non-Landing) Canada-USA Border Cruise which travels to the international border where passengers will see a cutline running through the forest, up the sides of the mountains indicating the 49th parallel and the Canada/USA International Border. The cruise stays close to the shoreline which increases the chances of seeing wildlife. No passports are required.

Sunday October 5th will be our final day of operations for the Canada-USA boarder cruise and the Crypt Lake shuttle. Thanks everyone for coming out this season and see you in the new year!

The Crypt Lake shuttle service is officially open for the 2025 season as of today May 31st! Please note that there is a significant amount of snow up at Crypt Lake and there are a few drainages still covered in snow that the trail passes through. Hiking poles, spikes/crampons and ice-axes are recommended but not required. Happy trails! Waterton Tourism Travel Alberta

We are now open for the 2025 season as of May 3rd. The spring is a great time to go for a cruise, and take in the splendour of Waterton/Glacier’s majestic snow capped peaks, abundant waterfalls and enchanting wildlife. Today our passengers were lucky enough to get to view a Sow Grizzly and two cubs from the tour boat!!

⚠️ The closure has been lifted as of September 24.

Parks Canada has issued an area closure for Crypt Lake trail and Hell Roaring Falls trail (see map). A bear is actively feeding on a carcass in the area.

This closure is in effect until further notice. Report all bear (carnivore) sightings to 1-888-927-3367 or notify Parks Canada Staff.

The Crypt Lake Shuttle service is currently not available as of today September 18th, 2024. The hiker shuttle will not be offered until the following area closure has been lifted by Parks Canada.

Area Closure: Crypt Lake trail and Hell Roaring Falls trail

Reason: Bear feeding on carcass in area.

Pursuant to Section 36(1) of the National Parks General Regulations, of the Canada National Parks Act, the Crypt Lake tail and Hell Roaring Falls trail is closed to all traffic and travel by order of the Superintendent:

Come take a cruise with us this Thanksgiving Weekend and take in the splendour of the fall colours! October 9th will be our last day of operations for the 2023 season. Our Canada/USA Border Cruise departs daily at 10:00am and 2:00pm while the Crypt Lake shuttle departs at 9:00am.

Come take a cruise aboard the historic M.V International and visit the Canada - USA border or the Goat Haunt Ranger Station. The M.V International has been plying the waters of Upper Waterton Lake since 1927!
