Join us on Tuesday, September 1 at 10:30 a.m. to unveil a first-of-its-kind installation that will transform the iconic Wawa Goose for a great cause! This special temporary installation in partnership with the Petro-Canada CareMakers Foundation will be part of Give A Honk, a national campaign to raise awareness and support family caregivers across Canada. 
 
For the month of September, you can visit a Petro-Canada location and purchase your $1 Goose Keychain and Petro-Canada will donate $3 to the CareMakers Foundation.

We’re so excited to share that our beautiful Sandy Beach boardwalk is getting a makeover! 🌊✨

For the next few weeks, we kindly ask that you use the alternate entrance to the beach Monday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Winnie's Hometown Festival is this weekend!

Did you know that one of the most famous bears in history has a special connection to our region?

On August 24, 1914, Canadian military veterinarian Lieutenant Harry Colebourn purchased an orphaned female black bear cub for $20 from a trapper at the White River train station. He named her “Winnie” after his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Today, our Wawa neighbours in White River celebrate that incredible piece of local history every year with Winnie’s Hometown Festival — and it’s happening THIS WEEKEND! 🎉

One of the most exciting events of the summer, the festival is packed with fun, family-friendly activities and plenty of opportunities to celebrate Winnie’s story.

This is not the Caribbean. This is Ontario! 😍
Located in the middle of Lake Superior 🌊 the Slate Islands are a unique set of 15 islands formed by a meteor impact that predates the dinos 🦕
Home to the southermost herd of woodland caribou in North America, the highest lighthouse on the Great Lakes, and unique arctic plants 🌱 and rock formations🪨, the islands are truly spectacular.
I visited this magical place on an epic 6-day kayaking expedition with Naturally Superior Adventures, where we stayed at secluded waterside campsites 🏕️ paddled through peaceful aqua-blue waters, and navigated the moody and powerful waters of Lake Superior! 🌊

This was a one-of-a-kind experience I won’t soon forget 💙

One of our most favourite trails in Lake Superior Provincial Park with the most amazing views!

It’s Trail Tuesday! 🌲 Today, we’re featuring the Nokomis Trail in Lake Superior Provincial Park.

This 5 km loop winds alongside the Old Woman River and through beautiful boreal forest, with scenic lookouts offering stunning views over Old Woman Bay. 🌊
