I think this day might have been one of my best memories of riding with Todd Eberts.
We were up one of the usual mountains and the weather was terrible, everybody else was long gone and we were literally the only people on the mountain. I definitely had thoughts to head down early but Todd insisted that the weather would break later in the day. I’m glad I listened, we had maybe 20 minutes of clear skies before the sun set and got to bang off a couple features.
The first pic is of Todd smashing a good size air on his 4 stroke turbo Yamaha. I was so impressed he hit this jump on that sled. To this day I’ve never acquired a taste for jumping turbos. It was pretty cool to see him step up as he did.
The second shot was my first real flight for the Alpha Cat. I find the balance point in these sleds to be very awkward and unpredictable, so I was scared 💩less hitting this jump full pin. Todd was good moral support, he definitely helped to get my head in the game.
The final shot is what I’d call Todd’s favourite drop, I have photos from at least 6 different occasions where he’s hit this line. I never liked it, I thought the landing was flat but it never seemed to bother him, he was a man of steel on an iron horse.
This day was truly magical, looking back at these pics has been a good reminder to never take these moments for granted and to appreciate the people that help to make them happen. Thanks Todd, this was definitely the best day of the season and I owe that to you.
