After spending a night in bustling Tromso Norway, we watched the sleek Lindblad National Geographic Endurance glide into dock. We will be sailing the Norwegian Fjords to Edinburgh & enjoying the ship, stunning scenery & great talks by the various Naturalists along the way. The safety drill included being led to the lifeboats which was a first in a long time.

We lucked out at the Munich Airport as there was no lineup for the new EES machines & we had our passports read, picture taken & fingerprints done in minutes! Stayed over night at the hotel attached to the airport which was a great area with restaurants & shops. Waiting at the arrivals area to meet the rep for Riverside River Cruises who will be providing our transfer to Passau we found some fun groups looking for their friends

As of January 2026, Heathrow Airport has officially removed the 100ml liquid restriction, allowing passengers to carry containers up to two liters in their hand luggage across all terminals (T2, T3, T4, T5). Thanks to new CT scanners, liquids and large electronics no longer need to be removed from bags at security.

Sure hope other airports follow as it’s time!!

Enjoyed a stopover in Berlin to see Checkpoint Charlie, the Brandenberg Gate (and how they looked during war time) then had great views of the city from the Berlin TV Tower. So many steps were achieved as it’s a very walkable place.

After my previous post about being on one of the last flights of the Boeing 747-400 series, it was so interesting to visit the Technik Museum in Speyer where they had an old 747-200 series plane that we were able to climb up into. They also had cars, firetrucks, submarines and so many more planes that we were able to get into that we ended up spending hours there!

Had to capture a pic of the old 747-400 series plane as they will gone from Lufthansa’s fleet by the end of 2025! They are keeping the 800 series for a few more years but this old plane is on its last couple of flights, there are fewer than 40 of them left worldwide ✈️
