'My journey into the mushing world started at only a couple of months old on my first sled ride with my parents and sister. By the time I was four years old I was driving my own team of dogs (two dogs) on a tiny homemade sled. During that time, I was lucky enough to see my dad complete multiple races and when I turned seven, it was my turn!
The first race my team and I have ever completed was a 5km race in Whitehorse and we finished first. The dogs running with me were my dad’s leader Tajo and my dog Minto and at the end I was overjoyed. In 2009, my father took part in his first Yukon Quest race and the moment I saw him leave Dawson City (halfway point of the race) with his team, I was hooked. The bond he had with his dogs inspired me to my core, this was what I wanted to do, I wanted to have my own team of dogs and I had to do long distance racing.
As the years go by, my team grows, as do the distances we travel. As of today, I have 18 beautiful Alaskan huskies and we are ready to take over the world. In preparation of this exciting race season I became the dog yard manager at Wild Adventure Yukon, an amazing tourism destination, where I have the opportunity to train with my dogs for the summer. They are more than “dogs” to me, they are my family and my best friends in the world and have made me the person I am today.'
Welcome to the Underdog Louve, we can't wait to see you in Yellowknife.
