Some days just plain and simple suck.
Today is one of those days. Had to say goodbye to our most awesome old man Traylock.
Yesterday he still came for walks and was his truly happy self, a little arthritic, a little death and blind and would walk in a room forgetting why he did. But at 14 1/2 that is to be expected.
Today he was different, something was off. After watching him for a bit, it was a visit to the Vet. Twisted stomach, most likely due to some underlying medical conditions. The offs of him making it off the operating table, and have a full recovery where not in our favor, so we had to make that dreadful call.
While our brains know that he enjoyed every day of his 14.5 years to the fullest, to the last moment, our hearts feel very different about it.
You touched so many souls across the globe sweet old man, you will be in our hearts forever.

Mr. Magoo. He joined our family in May 2025 at 9 years old. After this past winter season it was clear that he would be retiring, while he was super excited to go running there was not much pulling :)
He is such a goofy, sweet boy though he can be a bit of an instigator.
First step of being a lodge dog is getting neutered. He had his appointment yesterday. Found out that he might have had testicle cancer. We did not send them out to be tested as it does not really matter. We will love him and take care of him as long as we are blessed to share our time with him.
Now that step one is done, we will have to see if he can settle enough to move into the lodge. ❤

I was very fortunate to carve out 36hours of free time to surprise Jeff and the crew paddling into Dawson. Got to spend an entertaining evening at and a beautiful sunny afternoon in Dawson City, before flying back home with the amazing local airline. Air North
Gotta love the Yukon and all the great people we get to work with.
