Hendrik's cabin was absolutely perfect, a great place to relax and rejuvenate. My husband and I came to stay for our anniversary and it had the perfect cozy & intimate feel. The cabin is immaculate, well equipped with everything you could possibly need, and very warm and safe feeling. The surroundings are beautiful and you can enjoy taking some lovely walks down towards the lake or just enjoy the views from the cabin. The location is quite remote but easy to find with Hendrik's instructions, and it's still close enough to Whitehorse where you can easily go hit the town but still feel far enough away from the bustle that you are more connected with nature. We ultimately only booked a few nights as we planned to go and explore other parts of the Yukon, but we were honestly so sad to go. I'd be delighted to come back in the future and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat.

“Unbelievably cozy and comfortable with so many unique and thoughtful details...just beautiful and spotlessly clean. The upper loft was like a little nest in the trees and the equally comfortable bed on the bottom floor ( with a gas fireplace no less!) was perfect for my 92 year old Dad who didn't want to do stairs. Shower, wraparound deck, full kitchen and dining room with a view of the lake and mountains...well I could run out of adjectives trying to describe it all. We could not possibly have found a better place for our fist week in the Yukon! So grateful for it all..”

"We didn’t really know what to expect when we were making our way to Marsh Lake. The cabin was amazing: cozy, warm, with all the necessary amenities(for a cabin of that sort). But the best experience was from talking to the host (he built the cabin all by himself and was both knowledgeable and enjoyable to talk to). Please be aware that this is not a resort(there is minimum electricity in the cabin, toilet is outside, (outside) showers were not operating when we were there) Overall it was a great experience and we highly recommend staying there. (Seeing mama bear and 3 bear cubs from the cabin window was a bonus) Huge thank you, Hendrick!"

“Marsh Lake was our first stop on our Yukon trip and those were some of the best days we had. It's only been a week since we were there and we already feel like we miss it. It just felt like home! The views from the kitchen area and deck were just unbelievable, especially in the warm light of the sunset. The Lake View Cabin is very well taken care of, clean, and everything you could possibly need is there. Our hosts were very welcoming and gave us some great tips on places to check out in the area. "Be prepared. Be prepared for quiet, for lush forest and all of the good smells that come with it, for the most charming cabin imaginable, for peace that only comes from taking the time to be still. The Bird House Cabin at Marsh Lake was a wonderful little hidden gem about 45 minutes drive from Whitehorse. We didn't mind at all that there was no running water or electricity. Our week off the grid was excellent. There are charming propane lanterns in the cabin and we didn't even use them that much with all of the summertime daylight. The host has provided an outhouse that is roomy, clean and sweetly decorated. The outdoor shower was well done too, with plenty of hot water on demand. Water and trash are nearby and don't forget to check out the 'cool box', an outdoor and underground cold food storage area. Hiking trail access is just a few steps away. This place was way underpriced for the amazing cabin that it is.

We loved staying at your cabin. The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed. The cabin had everything a person could need, was beautifully done and well thought out. We did well with the outhouse and outdoor shower and enjoyed our 8 day stay tremendously. Thank you for sharing your part of the world with us."

"A fantastic place to stay whilst visiting Whitehorse. The cabin that Hendrik built is incredible. It's spacious, comfortable, charming and clean. Unlike other cabins listed on airbnb, this cabin is warm, has running hot water, has a bathroom inside (no need to go outside to use an outhouse). The views of the mountains and frozen lake from the many windows are incredible. To get onto the lake is only a 5 mins walk away. And to top it off, Hendrik is very warm and friendly, great communicator and helped arrange a dog sledding tour for us."

"We had an absolutely lovely stay at the “bird house”. The cabin itself is incredibly beautiful and was constructed with such an attention to detail. We loved the little artistic touches throughout the cabin like the big oval window, the pipe handrail and the statement shelf. Our hosts were very kind - they were there when we needed them, but also respected our privacy. They went the extra mile by helping get an item we left in the cabin back to us.
