What a great afternoon at the Skate Jam!

Tourism Williams Lake was happy to come out today and support the local skate community at the Nathan Mathews Memorial Skate Park.

Events like this are such a great reminder that there’s always something happening in Williams Lake — and that our parks and recreation spaces are an important part of what makes our community a great place to live, play and visit.

It was especially exciting to see the energy around the future of the Williams Lake Skatepark and the community behind it.

Great job to everyone who helped bring today’s Skate Jam together!

On September 30, we recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

We honour Survivors, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the lasting impacts of the residential school system on families and communities.

Today is a day to listen, learn, reflect, and continue the work of reconciliation.

Every Child Matters.
