Important update from Folklorama!

The First Nations Pavilion is withdrawing from Festival; Brazilian Pavilion to change dates.

Due to the impact of Manitoba’s wildfires, the First Nations Pavilion has made the difficult decision to withdraw from the 2025 Folklorama Festival to focus on supporting evacuees.

The Brazilian Pavilion will move to Week Two of the Festival (Aug 10–16) and relocate within that facility.

On this day in 1870, Manitoba joined Canada following the Red River Resistance of 1869-70. Originally, the province was 1/18th its current size and was called "The Postage Stamp Province".
The borders expanded several times until it reached its current size in 1912.
