Thanks for the memories folks!
Another season in the bag. The rushing waters of the Assiniboine gave us quite a wild ride this year and we welcomed a new addition to the fleet: the GTS Dave, our new Water Bus.

We’ve started putting our toys away and getting ready to tuck the boats in for winter, but we’re not done just yet!

Two more days of boat rides! Join us for our last days of operation, October 3 & 4, and squeeze in one last trip on the river before we call it a season.

What a year it’s been! A new boat, the return of scheduled Water Bus service to Winnipeg, some great new events, and an especially rowdy Assiniboine River that kept us on our toes.

A huge thank you to our incredible staff and everyone who came out, hopped aboard, and supported us this season. You helped make it a year to remember, and we’re so grateful to be part of what makes Winnipeg such a great place to be.

We’ve got a few more splashes left in us. Come say goodbye to the season, and we’ll see you back on the water in 2027!

Nuit Blanche is taking over Winnipeg, and we’re putting almost the whole fleet on the water to help you get around.

On September 26 from 9 PM to midnight, Winnipeg Waterways will be running a special Water Bus service connecting four docks:

Hugo Dock
The Forks Market
Taché Dock
Stephen Juba Park

This service is PAY WHAT YOU CAN. That means exactly what it sounds like. Pay $0, pay a few bucks, or pay whatever you think the ride is worth. We humbly suggest $3 per person.

There won’t be a set schedule. Just show up at any of the four docks and wait for the next boat. If it’s heading the direction you want to go, hop on.

We’ll have staff at every stop to help you figure out where you’re headed and which boat to take. Tap payment will be available on board.

Come down, explore Nuit Blanche, check out the art, catch a boat, and enjoy the night on the river.

We’re getting the boats, gear and crew ready for two river cleanup days, and we’re looking for more folks to join the growing team.

No experience needed. We’ve got everything set up, all you need to do is show up ready to get your hands dirty and help us clean up Winnipeg’s 2 biggest rivers.

*September 15 | Assiniboine River | 10am to 1pm*
Starting and ending at The Forks. We’ll use boats to reach different sections of the riverbank and get garbage and larger items out of the river. There will be plenty of different jobs, from picking up smaller garbage to hauling bags and helping with larger items. A crane will also be on hand to pull some of the bigger stuff out of the water.

*September 17 | Red River | 10am to 1pm*
Starting and ending at The Forks. We’ll use boats to get to some of the harder-to-reach spots along the river and focus on larger items and problem areas in the city centre. This one will involve a bit more walking on uneven ground and some heavier lifting.

We’re looking for more volunteers on September 15. Individuals, workplace groups and community groups are all welcome. Under 18? You just need to come with a parent or guardian.

🍂🍁💛 Fall is starting to show up on the river, but there’s still time to get out on the water. 🌊🦦🚣

Soak up the last splashes of summer, take a ride, and enjoy Winnipeg from the river before the season wraps up. Our fall hours are here, and we’ll be running until October 4. (as long as the mother nature allows it) We are still operating everyday, from noon to 830pm.

Waterbus final day is September 13. Remember it runs Wednesday to Monday! No Tuesdays. 1-815 to be exact.

Winnipeg Waterways is floating slowly into the back-to-school season!

There are only a few weeks left in our season, so now is a great time to get out on the water before the leaves start falling.

Book a tour, bring a group, or get your school group out for a day on the river. Workplaces, this is your sign to take advantage of the warm weather and get your crew out on the water before summer slips away.

We’ll also be announcing more special events and ways to get involved soon. If you haven’t signed up for our newsletter yet, it’s a great way to stay up to date on everything we have going on.
