🍇🏔️ Okanagan Experience | September 4–13, 2026 🚌☀️
🚌 Day One – Winnipeg to Swift Current
Today marked Day One of our Okanagan Experience tour to the beautiful Okanagan region of British Columbia, with Swift Current, Saskatchewan, as our first overnight stay. 🌾🌅
As we travelled west across the Manitoba and Saskatchewan prairies, we enjoyed the changing scenery, the great company of our fellow travellers, and the excitement of knowing that even more beautiful landscapes and experiences are waiting for us along the way. 🚌📸✨
🏔️ Day Two – Swift Current to Fernie
Today was Day Two of our Okanagan Experience tour! We travelled approximately 590 km west from Swift Current, Saskatchewan, to Fernie, British Columbia. 🚌🌄
Our journey took us across southern Alberta toward Crowsnest Pass, where the wide-open prairie gradually gave way to foothills and spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery. 🏔️🌲 What an incredible change in landscape!
📸 Frank Slide was one of today's memorable stops. On April 29, 1903, a massive rockslide from Turtle Mountain devastated the eastern edge of the town of Frank. It was an amazing opportunity to stop, take photos, and reflect on this important piece of Canadian history.
🚛 In Sparwood, B.C., we also had the opportunity to see and photograph the Terex Titan, the second-largest truck in the world! The massive truck was retired in 1991 and certainly made for an impressive photo. 📸
🌲 Our final stretch brought us to Fernie, B.C., known for its historic downtown and beautiful mountain setting. The many ski slopes are patiently waiting for that first snowfall! ❄️⛷️
Tomorrow, we continue onward to our main destination — Kelowna, in the heart of the Okanagan Region! 🍇🍷☀️

🌊 Day 6 – Prince Edward Island | Fehr-Way Tours 🚌🍁
Today we spent the day exploring Prince Edward Island and Charlottetown with our wonderful local guide, Sandy, who brought the Island’s history, people and stories to life.
Our first stop was the PEI Preserve Company, beautifully situated along the scenic River Clyde, where we sampled delicious local preserves and other Island specialties. It was a tasty introduction to the flavours of PEI! 🍓
From there, we visited Green Gables Heritage Place, stepping into the setting that inspired L.M. Montgomery’s beloved Anne of Green Gables. Surrounded by the landscapes that inspired her stories, it was easy to appreciate how the beauty of Prince Edward Island helped bring her famous characters and adventures to life. 📖🌿
After lunch, we continued to Prince Edward Island National Park and Oceanview Lookout, where we experienced the raw power of the wind and waves along the Island’s coastline. The lookout is well known for its spectacular panoramic, postcard-worthy views — and it certainly lived up to its reputation! 🌊📸
At North Rustico Harbour, we enjoyed an interesting demonstration and presentation about the Island’s traditional lobster fishery. It was a fascinating opportunity to learn more about the fishing traditions that remain such an important part of PEI’s culture and coastal communities. 🦞
Back in Charlottetown, Sandy guided us on a drive-by bus tour of some of the city’s interesting and historic sights. Along the way, she shared stories about the people and events that helped shape Charlottetown — and ultimately played a role in shaping Canada itself. 🇨🇦
And, of course, no visit to Prince Edward Island would be complete without enjoying some of the Island’s most famous culinary traditions!
Our day ended with a delicious traditional PEI lobster dinner at Fisherman’s Wharf. 🦞🍽️ It was a wonderful taste of the Island’s culinary heritage and a fitting finale to a memorable day.
From beautiful scenery and fascinating history to local traditions, great food and plenty of wonderful memories, Day 6 was another fantastic day on our Atlantic Canada adventure.
A big thank-you to Sandy for making our day on Prince Edward Island so enjoyable and informative! ❤️

🌊 Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland – Day 5 with Fehr-Way Tours 🚌🍁
Today’s journey took us from Saint John through beautiful landscapes and charming, tidy towns as we made our way to Fundy National Park.
Our first stop was a quick photo opportunity at Alma Pier, before continuing on to the spectacular Hopewell Rocks. 🌊
Often called the “Flowerpot Rocks,” these unusual formations have been sculpted by thousands of years of erosion and the tremendous forces of the Bay of Fundy tides. Seeing the dramatic rise and fall of the tides gave us a real appreciation for just how powerful nature can be.
Our visit was not only enjoyable but fascinating and educational, thanks in large part to Fran, our entertaining and knowledgeable guide, who kept us informed and entertained along the way. 😊
From there, we continued to Shediac, where the famous Giant Lobster provided the perfect backdrop for another group photo. 🦞📸
The light drizzle didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits, although a rain jacket was definitely the accessory of the day! ☔️
Then came another highlight — crossing the impressive 12.9-kilometre Confederation Bridge into Prince Edward Island. 🌉
A stop at the Shop & Play Gift Shop in Border-Carleton was great fun and produced plenty of good-humoured, laugh-out-loud moments. There may even have been a little shopping involved! 😄
It was a memorable day combining geology, engineering, incredible scenery and plenty of good times. Crossing the bridge and arriving on the Island added an extra sense of excitement, and everyone is now looking forward to tomorrow’s guided, all-day tour of Prince Edward Island.

🌊🚌 DAY 5 & DAY 6 – Fehr-Way Tour to Haida Gwaii! 🌲🪶
The adventure continues as our group makes its way to the spectacular Haida Gwaii! 🏝️✨
🌊 DAY 5 – Prince Rupert to Skidegate
The M/V Northern Adventure carried us across 93 nautical miles of the Hecate Strait on the seven-hour journey from Prince Rupert to Skidegate.
And yes… Gord Kennedy BACKED THE BUS ONTO THE FERRY! 😲🚌
Not just the bus — every car, camper and truck had to back on. We were the last to back on and the FIRST to get off! 😎🙌
The Hecate Strait can be rough, but today was our lucky day. Smooth sailing all the way! 🌊☀️
The morning started with fog, low visibility and the occasional blast of the ferry horn. Then, just like magic, the sun came out and stayed with us for the rest of the crossing! ☀️🌊
Many of our travellers gathered on the back deck or sunny side of the ferry, while others enjoyed games, conversations and the comfortable lounges. 🎲😊
One of the day's highlights was getting everyone together for introductions. We heard where everyone calls home, what they've enjoyed most so far, and what they're most excited about experiencing in Haida Gwaii.
The answers included culture, nature, learning, fishing, birdwatching, photography, food and so much more! 🪶🌲🐋📸🎣
The excitement was contagious! ❤️
After arriving, we checked into the Sea Raven Motel, with time to stroll along the shore just across the road. 🌊
Some of the group also enjoyed dinner at J & T's Chinese Restaurant. 🥢
✨ What an unforgettable day!
🌲 DAY 6 – DAAJING GIIDS
We started the morning with a scrumptious breakfast at Eagle Rock Restaurant, overlooking the sparkling waters and forested mountains of Daajing Giids. ☕🥞🌊
Then it was off to the incredible Haida Heritage Centre at Kay Llnagaay for three glorious hours! 🪶🌲
Our group split into two — the Raven Clan and the Orca Clan.
The Raven Clan toured the outer totem poles and carving shed with Reana, an exceptional young woman whose passion for museum curation truly shone through. 🪵✨
Meanwhile, the Orca Clan explored the impressive self-guided museum exhibits. Room after room, the displays left everyone in awe and silence. ❤️
Then the groups switched so everyone could experience both areas. There was also time to browse the wonderful gift shop! 🎁
After a tasty lunch at Eagle Rock, everyone had some well-deserved FREE TIME! 🙌
🛒 Seven passengers headed to the brand-new Co-op Grocery Store and were impressed with the selection of produce, meat and groceries — with prices comparable to the mainland.
And then came an unexpected treat…
They met Garner Moody, the talented carver who created all the totem poles at the Heritage Centre! 🪵🪶
Garner also creates beautiful, unique jewelry, with pieces ranging from $240 to $2,500 and demand from around the world. 💎
The ladies wanted to kidnap him… but thankfully, Gord our driver managed to talk them out of it! 😂😂
🌊 And then there was Janine!
She took a FULL PLUNGE into the Pacific Ocean! 🏊‍♀️🌊
Now THAT is embracing the adventure! 🙌😄
Our luggage is getting heavier with all the wonderful gifts and souvenirs we've collected, including treasures from Charlisle's, the oldest shop in town. 🛍️🎁
🎶 Friday night brought even more magic!
We were fortunate to be in Daajing Giids for the Local Music Open Mic in Spirit Square. Nearly three-quarters of our group headed down to enjoy performances from ten musical acts. 🎸🎤
The fan favourite was Vanity Radio, a polished singing duo whose melodic synthwave sound filled the concrete amphitheatre as the sun set over the water. 🌅🎶
The evening finished with an equally beautiful performance by a talented female singer and her guitar. 🎸❤️
Two amazing days.
Countless smiles.
New friendships.
Incredible experiences.
And we're only getting started! 🌲🌊🪶

🌲🐻 Day 4 – Prince George to Prince Rupert | Haida Gwaii Tour 🌊
Today was a spectacular day as we travelled west from Prince George to Prince Rupert, following the Yellowhead Highway beneath a gorgeous blue sky.
We soon met up with the mighty Skeena River and followed its winding path through the breathtaking beauty of British Columbia’s Pacific Northwest. 🏔️🌲
And then… BEARS! 🐻 Nadean was the first to spot a mother and cub along the highway! Most of the group missed that sighting, but thankfully another young bear appeared on the other side of the bus, giving many more of us a chance to see it.
We stopped for lunch in Smithers, a charming mountain town surrounded by beautiful scenery. Some enjoyed a leisurely lunch while others explored and took photos of the local artwork and the famous Smithers welcome sign—a grizzly with a fish in its mouth! 🐻🐟
In Terrace, a couple of our travellers had wonderful reunions with friends and family. What a special surprise on the journey! ❤️
The mountain scenery today was nothing short of spectacular. There was plenty of discussion about which range was more beautiful, but the Coastal Mountains may have won the vote! Towering rock faces, lush green forests, snow-covered peaks—including the famous Seven Sisters—and countless waterfalls made for an unforgettable drive. 🏔️💦
A train travelling along the east-west corridor gave us another glimpse of life in this remote and rugged part of BC, while two rounds of bus bingo helped keep everyone entertained during our long travel day. 🚌🎉
And finally… the Pacific! 🌊 We arrived in Prince Rupert, where some of us relaxed near the hotel while our more adventurous travellers headed to the inner harbour and Cow Bay to explore the boats, seaside restaurants and boutique shops.
Pacific, Pacific, Pacific… WE MADE IT! 🌊❤️
Tomorrow, the adventure continues as Haida Gwaii awaits! 🌲🛶🌊

🌊 Day 4 – Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland Ferry-Way Tour 🌊
Today we left Bridgewater and followed a scenic route to Annapolis Royal, a designated National Historic Site of Canada. We enjoyed a leisurely stroll along the Annapolis River boardwalk and had a little time to explore the local shops—a relaxing way to begin the day. 🌿
From there, we continued to Digby for lunch before visiting Gilbert Cove Lighthouse and Church Point, home to the magnificent largest wooden church in North America. ⛪
We also made a memorable stop at the site of Maud Lewis’s home. It was fascinating to see the tiny house where this remarkable artist lived and created her colourful paintings. 🎨🏠
Then it was time to board the ferry from Digby to Saint John, enjoying a relaxing crossing of the spectacular Bay of Fundy. ⛴️🌊 As we travelled across these famous waters, we had a chance to appreciate the incredible natural forces that create the world’s highest tides.
Another wonderful day filled with coastal scenery, local history, fascinating characters and unforgettable experiences. ❤️

🌊 Atlantic Day 2 – Discovering Halifax’s History 🇨🇦⚓
Today was a fascinating day exploring more of Halifax’s rich and colourful history! 🏛️📖
We toured the historic districts with a knowledgeable and entertaining local guide, who brought the city’s past to life with stories about the people and historical figures who helped shape Halifax into the city it is today. 👏😊
🏰 The Citadel was our first stop, where we learned why its strategic location was so important to the defence of Halifax. Inside the historic fortress, we got a glimpse into what daily life was like for those who lived and worked there under strict and demanding conditions.
⚓ The Titanic Cemetery was a particularly moving experience. When the Titanic sank in 1912, Halifax was the closest major seaport with rail connections, and ships based here played an important role in recovering victims. Walking among the graves made this tragic chapter of history feel very personal. 🕊️💙
🚢 At Pier 21, the former ocean-liner terminal and now Canada’s National Museum of Immigration, we continued discovering the stories of people whose journeys brought them to Canada. 🇨🇦❤️
A day filled with history, fascinating human stories, reflection, and discovery. Another memorable day on our Atlantic adventure! 🌊🍁✨

🌊 Day 3 – Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland Ferry-Way Tour 🌊
Today we followed the scenic Lighthouse Route to Peggy’s Cove, where the rugged coastline, expansive granite rocks and famous lighthouse gave us a wonderful taste of Nova Scotia’s coastal character. 🌊🏠
One of the most fascinating stops was the deGarthe Memorial, where artist William E. deGarthe carved figures representing Nova Scotian fishermen, their families and the guardian angel St. Elmo directly into a massive granite outcrop behind his home. Beginning in 1977, his work transformed the rock into a remarkable tribute to the people and traditions of Nova Scotia. 🎨
We continued to Lunenburg, a charming historic community and home of the famous Bluenose schooner, featured on Canada’s dime. ⛵ The original Bluenose was launched in Lunenburg on March 26, 1921. Built as a working fishing schooner, she also competed against American vessels in the International Fishermen’s Trophy races. She won in her first year and remained undefeated in the major series for the next 17 years!
Our visit to the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic gave us an even deeper appreciation for the area’s rich maritime heritage. We could certainly see why Lunenburg is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We ended the day with a warm welcome reception, great conversation and the opportunity to get to know our fellow travellers even better. ❤️

Day 3: Edmonton to Prince George 🏔️
Today we followed the Yellowhead Highway 16 west, leaving the cityscape of Edmonton behind as the landscape gradually climbed into the foothills. Before long, the magnificent Canadian Rockies appeared on the horizon — and the views just kept getting better!
Our journey took us through Jasper National Park, one of Canada’s iconic Rocky Mountain parks. Along the way, we were treated to several sightings of bighorn sheep, along with plenty of those “wow” moments that make travelling through the Rockies so special. 🐏🏔️
Crossing from Alberta into British Columbia, we stopped at Mount Robson Provincial Park, where the group enjoyed the 1 km interpretive loop trail behind the visitor centre. A group photo with much of Mount Robson visible in the background was an added bonus! The visitor centre’s lower-level displays also gave us a fascinating look at the park’s recreation, wildlife and development.
As we continued west, we left the high Rocky Mountains behind and entered a landscape of rolling, forested hills on our way toward Prince George.
After a full day on the road, the group dispersed for dinner, with many finding their way to Twisted Cork on 5th, just a short walk from the hotel. An excellent meal was the perfect finish to a wonderful day of scenery, wildlife and exploration.
Another most satisfying day on the road! 🇨🇦❤️

🌊 Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland Adventure – Day 1: Winnipeg to Halifax ✈️🚌
Our Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland adventure with Fehr-Way Tours got off to a relaxed and enjoyable start in Winnipeg!
After arriving in Halifax, we quickly settled into our hotel and began getting acquainted with our fellow travellers. 😊 Crossing the MacKay Bridge on our way from the airport gave us our first glimpse of Halifax’s sheltered harbour, and even that first view of the city gave us a sense that we had arrived somewhere with a fascinating past and plenty of stories to tell. 🌉⚓️
It was a comfortable beginning to what promises to be a busy and memorable journey. There was plenty of anticipation and excitement about the sights, stories, and experiences waiting for us over the next two weeks. 🚌📸
Tomorrow, we’ll have the opportunity to see more of Halifax and discover some of the history and character that make this city so special. And this is just the beginning — there are many more wonderful sights and unforgettable experiences ahead as we continue our Atlantic Canada & Newfoundland adventure! 🍁🌊
