23 March 1969 was the day to live for Great Nicobar when 69 Ex Servicemen families arrived from Punjab and landed on its land. "Khane ko acha khana nahi", "chalne ko rasta nahi",, "bhidane ko jetty nahin", "pahanane ko kapde nahi", "dukan nahi", "sarkar nahi" "un dino me kuch nahi hua karta tha, bas hausala aur mehnat ", said one settler.

Today Great Nicobar is one of the most important strategic parts of India. Life is much better but still big problems include "job reservation for GNI & Katchal settlers", "transportation of humans as well as cargo", "limited resources in education and health sector ", and " emergency services". GNI is not a tribal reserved area but still the Andaman and Nicobar administration controls the entry and exit of people.

After a long time, got an opportunity to donate blood (15th time approx) to a patient in PHC Campbell Bay . With minimal facilities, quite delay, it was a smooth sailing. Good number of people gathered for vaccination PHC Campbell Bay Maximum ladies and senior citizens. Can not see much people between 45 to 60. All are waiting. Very slow process. Don't know what is the method they are following. Mera number kab ayega?
