Our Chalet is the first World Centre of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). Since 1932 we have been providing adventure, fun, and international friendship, high up in the Swiss Alps. We are open to groups, families, and individuals for an overnight stay, day visit, or as participants in one of our many action-packed international events.

As our busy summer season comes to an end here at Our Chalet, we want to say a big thank you to our amazing Summer Volunteer Team! 💙

This brilliant team has welcomed guests, led programmes, and kept Our Chalet looking neat and tidy, while developing their own leadership and teamwork skills. 🌍

Meet Maxime, a general volunteer from The Netherlands 🇳🇱

Maxime has been a Scout for 10 years. In her free time, she loves to play games and watch movies.

Maxime was a spring season volunteer, and we are very pleased she stayed for our busy summer season! During her two seasons at Our Chalet, Maxime has enjoyed meeting people from all around the world and learning about their cultures and experiences.

Earlier this month, we celebrated 94 years of Our Chalet! 💙

Our event guests helped us mark the occasion with a special Chalet Birthday evening programme. A very special thank you to Samantha, our Kitchen Volunteer, for baking a delicious birthday cake for everyone to enjoy 🎂✨

We’d also like to say a huge thank you for our wonderful birthday present (pictured in photo 2): a battery-powered vacuum! 🧹 This will be incredibly helpful for maintenance around the Chalet and for outdoor use, especially when keeping our campsite and tents clean!

Thank you to everyone who celebrated our birthday with us, and to all those who support Our Chalet throughout the year. Your continued support helps keep this very special place welcoming Girl Guides and Girl Scouts from around the world. 🌍💙

Meet Onolina, a general volunteer from Tanzania 🇹🇿

Ono has been a member of the Tanzania Girl Guides Association for six years.

In her free time, Ono loves to watch animation movies and explore nature.

At Our Chalet this summer, Ono has enjoyed experiencing personal growth and building a global sisterhood. She has also enjoyed experiencing the mountains and Swiss culture.

Meet Samantha, our Kitchen Volunteer from Canada. 🇨🇦

Samantha has been a member of Girl Guides of Canada for 16 years. She started in Sparks at age 5, completed the whole programme, and has since transitioned to being a leader.

In her spare time, Samantha enjoys being in nature with her dogs, playing sports, doing yoga, spin classes, and baking.

This summer, Samantha is enjoying meeting people from all over the world and learning more about the unique sisterhood guiding has to offer. She is also enjoying learning more about Switzerland, the culture, and learning some Swiss recipes she can take home with her!

Meet Kimberley, our Programme Volunteer from the UK 🇬🇧

Kimberley joined Girlguiding as a Brownie when she was 7 years old and is still here, almost 20 years later!

She also likes playing hockey, hiking or birdwatching, and never goes too far without a good book.

Kimberley is enjoying all the challenges and adventures volunteering at Our Chalet will bring. She enjoys supporting girls from around the world to have their own adventures, and helping to pass on the sense of freedom and belonging which makes being a guide so special to her.
