For more than 30 years, we have been travelling together in the Himalayas – and stories like this are exactly what make this partnership so special.
Over the decades, we have shared countless journeys with Trekking Team Nepal: from Mount Kailash to Annapurna and Mustang – and soon again on new paths, as we head out on an exploratory mountain bike tour in the Everest region this November.
Hari Dev Pathak perfectly represents what we value most in this partnership: genuine passion, deep knowledge, and a connection to the mountains that cannot be taught – only lived.
We are grateful to have Trekking Team Nepal as such a reliable and authentic partner by our side, and we look forward to many more adventures together.
This man founded Trekking Team Nepal in 1991.
35 years later, he's still on the trail.
This photo was taken this April on his way to Ghorepani — rhododendrons blooming around him, a snow-capped Himalayan peak in the distance, trekking poles in his hands. The same trail he has walked hundreds of times. The same smile.
His name is Hari Dev Pathak.
In 1991, there was no internet. No TripAdvisor. No Google Maps. Starting a trekking company meant standing at the airport with a handwritten sign, earning trust one handshake at a time, and building a reputation the only way that matters — by bringing people home safe with stories they'd tell for the rest of their lives.
35 years and 10,000+ trekkers later, Hari Dev doesn't sit in an office reviewing spreadsheets. He walks the trails. He checks the teahouses. He greets the villagers by name. He knows which section of the path gets slippery after rain and which teahouse makes the best dal bhat in Ghorepani.
That's the difference between a company that sells treks and one that lives them.
When you book with Trekking Team Nepal, you're not booking with a website. You're booking with a family that has walked every trail they sell — led by a founder who is still, at 35 years in, out there on the mountain.
Founded 1991. Online 1993. Still here. Still walking.
