The old, semi-detached barn with lots of history lies in the small artists village of Borgonovo with goats, chickens and an impressive surrounding with beautiful mountains, lakes and waterfalls. During winter it is easy to reach skiing in Engadin and during summer, it is a short drive to lake Como. Historically, the barn was built in 1686 and was fully renovated in 2015. The old wooden logs are still its heart and soul. However, it was important to us to put a modern twist on the space to ensure you will be comfortable during your stay.

A few unexpected summer dates have opened up at Barn1686 from June 22 to August 19.

Tucked away in the quiet village of Borgonovo, our restored barn sits between mountains, forests, art, culture and the Italian border.

Wake up to valley views, spend the day hiking or cycling directly from the doorstep, and wander through Giacometti country, then return for a sauna and a slow evening overlooking the mountains.

No crowds. No rush. Just nature, history and space to breathe.
