It lives in one of our absolute favourite finds in Saas-Fee — (schaeferstube means “shepherd’s hut”). Tucked away on the mountain side in a beautifully converted combined dwelling and barn, this place is pure magic oozing charm.

Cosy and atmospheric, with food and service that are truly top-tier, it's the kind of restaurant you keep coming back to. We even love the little walk up the winding side streets to get there — it feels like you're discovering a hidden gem every time.

Perfect for a special date night or whenever you want to slow down and savour the moment. And the best part? After a dreamy meal, it’s all downhill back to Sonnenhof-Juliet.

Wishing everyone a lovely Mothering Sunday, to all the women who have mothered, or wanted to be a mother or the mothers who have lost, single mothered, and the mothers who are no longer here. It’s not always an easy day for everyone, we miss my brother but my darling Jolyon brought more than a ray of sunshine into our lives and I always feel it’s been a privilege to be his mummy. ♥️

My brother would be 53 today but here are photos of him in his prime doing what he loved best and how I like to remember him. I think he would really love to have explored all the activities possible in Saas-Fee. Adventurous by nature and entrepreneurial too I have taken a leaf from his story forward with more courage than I knew I had in me. I miss him but he’s never forgotten and I take him with me in the best positive ways I can.

More interior shots from . Adding some children is the perfect way to see the domestic scale interiors as the children font take up much space in the shots but they are easily more engaging than a shot without children.

Last day of a wonderful 2 week break. What a luxury it was to be staying in our own place in the loveliest Swiss village, . Jolyon, now 11 able to walk around the village independently, hopping on milk float busses and popping to the shops with pocket money or walking himself back from ski school or the pool. It feels very safe with it being car free and it’s a lovely way to start his journey of independence. It’s one of the reasons it’s such a family orientated resort.

Waffle O’clock- hot of the irons, light and fluffy fruit filled waffles with crispy deep pockets dusted with snowy icing sugar served with a mountain backdrop and blue sky. there’s all the equipment you need to make everything from waffles to frothy hot chocolate or a simple expresso. I love cooking so the place is well equipped to make yourself feel at home with some home made treats when you stay. 🇨🇭

Great to see Saas-Fee being recognised for its eco credentials by the Daniel Elkan and Rupert Mellor in the Guardian yesterday 🙌 Sonnenhof-Juliet is something of an eco build too, clad with timber, heavily insulated and run on newable energy it was the first building in Saas-Fee to be connected to their village ground source heat pump. If you can train it to Visp rather than fly or drive you can have a guilt free low carbon trip.
