Tallevika Travel with Tallevika outside the mainstream tourism in Värmland in Sweden. We show you our favorite places around the lakeside town Kristinehamn.

We explore and enjoy the nature and the exiting history around Vänern the largest lake in western Europe. We started Tallevika Travel to have fun, meet interesting people curious of Sweden and enjoy life together. e are born in Sweden and emigrated to Switzerland at age 32 with our 3 children. We lived 25 years in Biel-Seeland but moved to the Emmenthaler region in 2020. We became Swiss because we love Switzerland as our home. But, we just have to go to our favorite places in Sweden a few times per year. Join us and find out why.

🇬🇧 We were able to dive into the fantastic world of Lars Lerin with the help of his childhood friend and guide at Sandgrund, Agneta Markgren. His upbringing in the forests of Värmland, his travels, his periods in the Lofoten Islands, everyday life on Hammarö, his insects and animals – it’s all there. 🇸🇪 Vi fick dyka in i Lars Lerins fantastiska värd mha hans barndoms vän och guide på Sandgrund, Agneta Markgren. Hans uppväxt i Värmlandsskogarna, resorna, perioderna i Lofoten, vardagen på Hammarö, hans insekter och djur, allt finns med. Därtill en stor mängd böcker med 1000-tals illustrationer. 🇩🇪 Unsere Lieblingswanderung entlang des Eisenpfads führt von den Schleusen in Källfallet zu den Schleusen in Bjurbäcken. Heute sind René Schürch und seine Frau aus der Schweiz mit dabei. Am Schleusencafé in Bjurbäcken genießen wir ein Krabbenbrot im gepflegten Garten und die Ruhe. Danach wandern wir weiter Richtung Stora Mossen und gehen über die Stege hinein in die beeindruckende Moorlandschaft. Ganz allein sind wir dort draußen auf dem weiten Moor, umgeben von all den fantastischen Kiefern und anderen Pflanzen. Dann gehen wir wieder in den Wald – und dann passiert etwas…

🇬🇧 Our favorite hike along the Iron Trail is from Källfallet Locks to Bjurbäcken Locks. Today, René Schürch and his wife from Switzerland are with us. Once we reach the Bjurbäcken Lock Café, we enjoy a shrimp sandwich in the well-kept garden and soak in the calm. We then continue towards Stora Mossen, heading out on the boardwalks into the striking bog landscape. We’re completely alone out there on the vast moss, surrounded by all the amazing pines and other vegetation. Then we enter the forest again, and that’s when something happens…
