✨ Anzère Spa & Wellness – a must-do close to our apartment in Sion ✨

This week we tried a new activity in our beloved Anzère Ski Resort, and we can highly recommend it for your next stay

The Anzère Spa & Wellness is beautifully located in a sunny spot with stunning views over the Valais valley and the village ☀️🌄

The facilities aren’t huge, but they’re perfectly sized for the village. The building is modern, very well maintained, and an extra bravo to the staff who keep everything spotless throughout the day 👏✨

We booked access to the wellness area, which includes:
🛁 an outdoor whirlpool bath
🔥 an outdoor sauna
💨 a steam bath
🔥 two indoor saunas (90°C & 70°C)
💆‍♀️ massage rooms
🍵 a relaxation room with water and green tea

The thermal pools include a small pool for infants 👶 and a large pool with indoor & outdoor sections. You can relax on the side of the pool and enjoy the beautiful view through the huge glass windows 🏊‍♀️🌿
Children are welcome in the pool, while there are hours for families to play with balls!

⭐ The highlight of our visit: the aquafit class, included in the entrance price!
🕥 Every Tuesday, Friday & Sunday at 10:30 am

The class was led by Eitan Madar, who brought an amazing positive mood, great energy, and even a hidden passion for singing along to the music 🎶😄
If you’re lucky enough to attend his class, he’ll definitely lift your spirits!

On 13 November 1475, the Valaisans and their Confederate allies defeated the powerful army of Savoy at the gates of Sion. Their victory in the now little-known «Battle on the Planta» was of great importance for the Confederation and decisive for its successes in the Burgundian Wars.

✨ A step back in time… ✨

Here is a glimpse of Tourbillon Castle and the Tour des Chiens in Sion, captured in 1947 in the book Trésors de mon pays.

Do you see the houses at the foot of the tower? One of them is our building — already standing proudly then, and today lovingly restored.

Now, more than 75 years later, you can stay here yourself, just under the Tour des Chiens, and wake up to the same timeless view of history and vineyards. 🍇🏰

🎉 What a match! Italy’s win was thrilling, but let’s be honest—the real scene-stealer was the breathtaking view of Sion’s castles from Stade de Tourbillon! 🏰⚽ This might just be the most stunning stadium backdrop of the entire tournament.

The tournament started yesterday, unfortunately with a loss for the Swiss team, but with a great festive mood all around Switzerland.
Today Sion waits for the fans of Belgium and Italy in the stadium of Tourbillon!

🏰 Discover Château de Tourbillon - Sion - Valais — Just 600 m from our Doorstep!

Nestled atop a rocky hill above Sion, Château de Tourbillon dates back to the late 13th century when Bishop Boniface de Challant built it as his stronghold. Though rebuilt in the 15th century and tragically gutted by fire in 1788, the castle now stands as beautifully restored ruins—an iconic viewpoint overlooking the Rhône Valley.
