The mystery continues... 🚨

Thanks to one of you, I went back to the lighthouse... and you were right! I completely missed the initials “ALWI 26” in my last Reel. 🤯

Does anyone know what “ALWI 26” stands for?

While I was there, I also noticed a tiny solar panel. ☀️ Does this lighthouse light up at night?

And if you know who created this little masterpiece (or if it’s you!), I’d still love to hear the story behind it. ❤️

Protests against are once again spreading across Europe as the summer season reaches its peak.

Locals vs. Tourists? The frustration is real.

For decades, tourism has largely been designed around the visitor - their comfort and convenience - often at the expense of local communities. Resorts have taken over coastlines, leaving residents with limited access to their own beaches. Gentrification is displacing local people as their homes are bought by foreign investors and converted into short-term rentals. Local cultures are commodified, and experiences are carefully staged to appear “authentic.”

How did we get here? Part of the answer lies in the colonial roots of modern tourism - a system that historically prioritized extracting value from places over supporting the people who live there.

As a company operating in the place we love and call home - - we’re trying to contribute to a different model.

Our experiences put at the centre, not just the visitor. We co-design our tours with local partners, and our programmes are created for both locals and visitors. We spend a lot of time thinking about how to bridge these two groups.

What do you think needs to ? And how do you contribute to more responsible travel when you explore a new place?

Tell us in the comments - we’re curious to hear your thoughts. 💚
