Part of the reason we enjoy hosting tours is because of the friendships that develop from the different groups each year. We were blessed to enjoy a wonderful weekend in Monterey VA. for the 2024 Europe group. It was planned by 4 couples from the area, and hosted by James and Brenda Helmuth at their lovely, large home that was built for events such as this! We had a wonderful time reconnecting, eating delicious food, and enjoyed a steam train ride up the mountain on the Cass railroad. Thank you to all who made it a memorable time!

Just a few more pictures of the stunning scenery we saw in Zermatt and along the Gornergrat railway to the Matterhorn. Also Ernst took us up a breathtaking mountain pass and we made a quick stop in Lucerne before we headed back to Zurich for our last night. Today we have all arrived safely in Toronto, and have scattered to our final destinations of VA, and FL. Thanks for following along! Our next European tour is scheduled for next spring.

The last two days have been spent in and around Amsterdam. Yesterday we drove to Friesland, to see some of the water systems and dikes. A local couple then took us around and showed us the Church where Menno Simons preached, and also the one he left as a catholic priest.
This morning we went to the huge flower warehouse and auction place, (Flora Holland) which was quite amazing to observe! We then drove to Haarlem, and saw the oldest Mennonite church in the Netherlands as well as Corrie Ten Boom’s house. This afternoon was spent at Zaanse Schans, a traditional Dutch windmill village, and then a stop at Rembrandt’s wooden shoe and cheese shop. It’s been a quick, but interesting little tour of the Netherlands, but tomorrow we head back to Zermatt and the Swiss Alps for a few days.

Our extended tour to the Netherlands continued yesterday with a group of 12. We managed to squeeze our paired down luggage for one week, onto a Mercedes sprinter van, and with Ernst as our driver and guide, we headed for Worms Germany to the cathedral as our first stop. He had then arranged an evening with a Russian Mennonite Brethren group in Frankenthal where we each had hosts to stay with for the night. We enjoyed our stay with them very much and also attended their church this morning.
This afternoon we had a lovely Rhine River cruise where we saw many castles and beautiful scenery along the way. Tonight we sleep in Amsterdam.
