A journey begins long before reaching Patagonia.
It also begins with understanding how we want to move through the places we visit.
Our Responsible Traveller Code is part of the work we have been developing at AysenJourneys to make our commitment to responsible tourism more concrete and transparent. It is grounded in the principles of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, adopted by the World Tourism Organization in 1999 and endorsed by the United Nations in 2001.
For us, responsible travel is not about telling people how they should experience Patagonia. It is about encouraging a relationship with the territory based on respect, awareness and reciprocity.
Over the next few days, we'll be sharing the commitments that make up our Code in Stories.
If you’re here on time, follow along. If you’ve arrived a little later, no worries — we’ll keep them saved in our Highlights so you can come back to them whenever you like.
Because travelling through Patagonia is also about how we choose to leave it behind 🌿
