In 1959 the Laguna San Rafael National Park was founded, covering a territory of approximately 1,742,000 hectares. It is the largest national park in Chile and, due to the importance of its size and biodiversity, it was recognized by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. Close to the glacier, you can find endemic fauna of the area which makes a great place for wildlife photoshoot and birdwatching.

Oh yes!! A coffee and the bathroom please!!

Getting from Punta Arenas to the park can be an exhausting experience. We try to avoid it always. But there always a place where we can do a last stop before we reach the park, and that place is "Cerro Castillo" town.
Cerro Castillo is also next to the border with Argentina, in january you can enjoy the famous "jinetadas" that are the x-games from the Gauchos, you can trully feel the "Hermandad" spirit and enjoy a great lamb barbecue.

Hello there dear friends and fans!

Today we'll talk about horses. Even today this great animal continues to be the most reliable vehicle that a "Gaucho" or an "Estanciero" can find. It's simple, be kind to them, treat him as a friend, feed and give him some water.
Horses take a big part on the Patagonian life, there's no question about it and you can experience an "Estancia" experience with a proper horse back ride.
