It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jaime Maynard Durandeau (1952–2025), one of our most dedicated and experienced travelArt guides.

For over 20 years, Jaime led our tours across Chile, specializing in Patagonia, and became a true ambassador of the region. His passion and extensive knowledge left an indelible mark on all those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Jaime was not only an exceptional guide but also a tireless advocate for the professionalization of tourism, working relentlessly to improve the field for the benefit of his colleagues. His remarkable career was recently recognized by Sernatur Magallanes, a fitting tribute to his dedication to the southern Chilean region.

His passing leaves a deep void, and as a team, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.

Rest in peace, dear Jaime. Your legacy will continue to inspire us all.

The list ranked Chile in 24th place with a score of 4.42, the fifth best cuisine in Latin America, after Mexico, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.

For the 4th time since 2019, Chile was voted "World's Leading Green Destination 2023" at the World Travel Awards.

This prestigious award, also known as the "Oscar of Tourism," recognizes Chile's commitment to eco-friendly travel. Chile stood out among the other nominated countries such as Peru, Ecuador and Norway for its its green tourism initiatives.

The award recognizes the richness and promotion of nature attractions, together with the planning, development and promotion of environmentally responsible tourism activities.

Chile has a new national park named "Glaciares de Santiago".

It's situated in the Metropolitan Region of the capital, with the aim of protecting 368 glaciers.

The most outstanding glaciers are Olivares Gamma, Juncal Sur and Tupungatito volcano.
With a great variety of fauna, the area is home to pumas, condors, Chilean eagles, peregrine falcons, red foxes and guanacos.

Fiesta de la Tirana is back after 3 years. It is one of the most important religious festivals in northern Chile in honour of the Virgen del Carmen.

Colourful dances, tradition and happiness. The small desert town of La Tirana with a mere 800 inhabitants attracted approx. 250,000 visitors.

The festival started on July 10th with the traditional dance and will last until July 20th 2023.
