At the edge of Torres del Paine, Tierra Patagonia feels less like a hotel and more like a front-row seat to one of the wildest landscapes on earth. Designed to disappear into the steppe, its sweeping architecture frames glaciers, guanacos, and the shifting light over the Paine massif. Days here are shaped by adventure—private hikes, horseback rides with gauchos, boat excursions to Grey Glacier—then softened by long soaks in the spa, deep Chilean reds, and long dinners overlooking the lake. Suites are warm, understated, and cocooning after days outdoors, while the guiding and sense of place are exceptional. It’s Patagonia at its most soulful—remote, elemental, and impossibly beautiful.

One&Only Kéa Island sits just off the coast of Athens, but feels a world away—raw coastline, no crowds, and space to breathe. The 63 villas are built right into the cliffs, all stone, marble, and clean lines that don’t compete with the view. You can dive the Britannic wreck with local guides, bike out to the ruins of Karthea, or hike centuries-old trails that connect hilltop villages and oak forests. The spa spans three levels, with watsu pools and treatments that mix Ayurvedic technique with local ingredients like thyme, olive oil, and rose. The main restaurant, Atria, leans into what’s in season, building each dish around local ingredients—and pairing them with Greek wines from volcanic islands, mountain vineyards, and family-run estates. Step inside the Hôtel de la Marine and you’re not just visiting a museum you’re walking through the backstage of French history. Once home to the royal Garde-Meuble where the Crown Jewels were kept before being famously stolen during the Revolution, this 18th-century landmark later became the Navy’s HQ for over 200 years. The rooms are fully restored down to the parquet floors and gilded moldings, with immersive audio headsets that guide you through the space. Visitors can explore private apartments, attend contemporary art exhibitions, or catch concerts and special events in the historic salons. From secret ballrooms to a balcony overlooking the spot where Marie Antoinette was executed, every corner has weight. One of the most iconic views in Paris, and one of its most underrated museums.
