The village of Bidjoucka is found in the southern part of Cameroon. It's is a pygmy settlement that is bigger than that of the Ndtoua pygmy settlement and it's far more enclaved.
During colonization by the Germans, these locals were forcefully captured as labourers and slaves by their chiefs who acted as middlemen to the Europeans.
So the Pygmies and the Bantus decided to flee into the forest for refuge. When the Germans lost the 1st World War, in Cameroon, the French took over. The French were now in control of the country and asked all the population in hiding to come back into the towns. Some Bantus and a few Pygmies accepted the offer while others decided to remain in hiding. Amongst those who decided to remain in the forest are the Bidjoucka and the Ndtoua Pygmies. They have different secret roads that lead them into different parts of the country. They are mainly animists. They live by trade by barter, gathering, hunting with little or no agriculture.
