Understanding China’s Harmony Culture at the Forbidden City ✨
I shared with friends from all over the world something truly special:
the culture of Harmony that runs deep in Chinese history and tradition.
Standing before the three main halls of the Forbidden City, you can feel it immediately.
Taihe Dian, Zhonghe Dian, Baohe Dian — every name carries the idea of “He” — Harmony.
- Taihe (Supreme Harmony): harmony between heaven, earth, and all living things
- Zhonghe (Central Harmony): balance, poise, and integrity
- Baohe (Preserving Harmony): maintaining peace, stability, and goodwill
Centuries ago, when the Forbidden City was built, Zheng He sailed the oceans bringing silk, porcelain, and friendship.
His journeys were about connection, not conflict.
This idea of peace, respect, and living in harmony has been with us ever since.
In a world that often feels rushed and divided, I find this culture more meaningful than ever.
Ancient wisdom, historic goodwill, modern connections, and global cooperation —
all come back to one simple, beautiful idea: harmony.
To me, being a guide here is more than sharing history.
