🏍️ Eurasia Expedition – Entering the Caucasus 🌍
After crossing the Balkans, exploring Istanbul and travelling through the Anatolian highlands, our combined motorcycle and 4x4 expedition has now reached Georgia.
From the Black Sea coast, the road leads into the wooded mountains and open highlands of the Caucasus. Mist-covered tracks, winding forest roads, remote villages and livestock wandering across the route have already made Georgia a memorable new stage of this transcontinental journey.
With every border crossing, the scale of the expedition becomes clearer. The next horizon is the Caspian Sea, followed by the vast landscapes and legendary Silk Road routes of Central Asia—and eventually the Tibetan Plateau. 🏔️

🏍️🌍 Eurasia Expedition – Latest Tour Shots

Europe is gradually disappearing in the mirrors as our Eurasia group continues its long journey east.

The first stages have taken our 4x4 and motorcycle participants across the Balkans and into Turkey, from Istanbul and its colourful bazaars to historic Silk Road towns, remote mountain landscapes and endless roads through the Anatolian highlands. Along the way, there has been plenty of time for sightseeing, local encounters and the smaller moments that make a true overland journey so memorable.

Today the route reaches another milestone as the group crosses from Turkey into Georgia and enters the Caucasus. From here, the adventure continues east toward the Caspian Sea, Central Asia and eventually the Tibetan Plateau.

🏍️🚙 Eurasia Overland 2026 – The Journey Begins 🌍
On 31 July, our Eurasia Overland group set out from Munich, with motorcycles and 4x4 vehicles beginning an extraordinary transcontinental adventure together.
The first stages have already taken the group across the eastern Alps to Ljubljana, through Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia to Belgrade, onward to Sofia and now across Bulgaria towards Burgas and the Black Sea. Loaded vehicles, changing landscapes, international borders, long rewarding days on the road and the first shared experiences of the journey—this is only the opening chapter.
From the Balkans, the route continues through Turkey, the Caucasus and Central Asia before reaching the Tibetan Plateau. Beyond Tibet and China, the journey will continue for some participants with an optional extension into Southeast Asia, with the final destination in Bangkok, Thailand.
This exceptional overland journey is organised by Tibetmoto and Classic Bike Adventure in partnership with the Motorrad Action Team and Auto Motor Sport.

🏍️ The Great Central Asia Ride – Journey Across the Silk Road

Our second Great Central Asia Ride of the summer has been underway since the 16th of July, with the group already experiencing the vast and untamed landscapes that have defined this legendary region for centuries.

The first days on the road have taken riders through sweeping mountain ranges, remote valleys, endless open steppes, and traditional yurt camps, offering a glimpse into the nomadic way of life that still thrives across Central Asia.

Every kilometre brings new scenery, spectacular riding roads, and a stronger connection to the landscapes that once carried merchants, explorers, and travellers along the ancient Silk Road.

We have now reached Samarkand, and have many more Silk Road cities ahead, but the journey has already delivered unforgettable riding and some of the region's most breathtaking scenery.

Kailash Calling Motorcycle Tour – Finale Update, From Zanda Gorge to the Kailash Kora 🏔️🛕

After an unforgettable journey into the remote far west of Tibet, our riders returned from the ancient Guge Kingdom, tracing their way through the surreal clay formations of Zanda Gorge — without doubt one of the most visually striking sections of the entire expedition.

The pace then softened, allowing time to fully take in the atmosphere around Bagaxiang village, the sacred waters of Lake Mansarovar, and the stark, mystical beauty of Rakshastal — landscapes deeply woven into the spiritual fabric of this region.

For some, this marked the conclusion of the ride — a journey defined by high-altitude passes, vast and remote terrain, and moments that go far beyond the road itself.

For others, the experience continued in its most profound form.

Taking on the Mount Kailash kora pilgrimage, riders stepped into a centuries-old path of devotion. Along the trail, they encountered pilgrims undertaking full-body prostrations, moving with unwavering dedication through one of the most sacred circuits in the Himalayas. Surrounded by immense peaks and an almost tangible sense of spirituality, it was a powerful and humbling finale.

This first Kailash Calling motorcycle expedition has proven to be something truly special — raw, demanding, deeply spiritual, and unlike anything else we offer.

A sincere thank you to everyone who joined us on this journey, and to our incredible team on the ground.

Kailash Calling Motorcycle Tour – 2nd Tour Update, Far West Tibet 🏍️🏔️

Our group has now reached the far western edge of the Tibetan Plateau — one of the most remote and least-traveled regions in the entire Himalayas, where vast open landscapes stretch endlessly across the high altitude desert. At the center of this extraordinary region rises Mount Kailash — standing in complete isolation, its perfectly formed peak dominating the surrounding plateau.

We are incredibly proud of our participants and team. This year has brought the coldest spring on the high plateau in many years, making the journey especially demanding. Yet it is exactly these conditions that shape the experience — not because the road is easy, but because the challenges faced together create lasting memories and strong bonds within the group.

Continuing further west, we reached the dramatic remains of the ancient Guge Kingdom — once a powerful center of culture and religion in the Himalayas. Today, its ruins stand perched high above the barren valleys, offering a striking reminder of a lost civilization shaped by this extreme landscape.

From here, the route now turns back toward Mount Kailash, as the expedition approaches another major highlight of the journey.

A full-day loop through the remote highland settlement of Bagaxiang will lead to two of Tibet’s most iconic high-altitude lakes: Freshwater Lake Manasarovar and Saltwater Lake Rakshastal.

Together, these two lakes form a powerful natural and spiritual duality — light and dark, purity and wildness — set against one of the most dramatic landscapes on earth.

Kailash Calling Motorcycle Tour – On the Road to Mount Kailash 🏍️🏔️
Our very first Kailash Calling journey is now well underway.

Since starting in Lhasa on April 26th, the team has been riding across the vast landscapes of Tibet — high-altitude plains, remote valleys, and ancient towns — steadily making their way west toward one of the most sacred places on earth: Mount Kailash.

For millions across Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon, Mount Kailash is not just a mountain, but a sacred spiritual center. Completing the Kora (circumambulation) is believed to bring deep spiritual merit — and many in our group will be taking on this challenging pilgrimage themselves.

This year makes the journey even more special. 2026 is the Tibetan Year of the Horse — a rare and powerful time, when completing the Kora is said to multiply its spiritual significance many times over.

The group is now approaching the Kailash region, with the real highlight of the journey just ahead.

Stay tuned — next update will bring you closer to Mount Kailash itself, along with the incredible landscapes of the ancient Guge Kingdom and the sacred lakes Lake Manasarovar and Rakshastal. More to come soon!
