David and Emelie are a couple (though claimed to bejust friends) from Sweden, traveling in China. Hangzhou is their second stop.Both of them are talkative and enjoyed everything in Hangzhou!

Nan Xie and Tao Xiang. We two volunteers accompany thecouples all the way to TianDu City. Both of us really enjoyed the trip withthis young couple! We talked about religions, arts, architecture, childhoodexperience, cultural differences etc. We learned a lot about each other’scountry.

Emelie: We really have a lovely day today, and I think it is the best day forme since I came to China. It is lovely to have some one to speak to andunderstand us to show us around. We also had a great dinner!
David: We really want to go to this place (TianDu City) outside of Hangzhou,and we are not sure if we can make it without your help.

Who are Hangzhou Greeters?

Hangzhou Greeters is a non-profit organization, which is also a proud member of Global Greeter Network. We offer free tour guide services and our Greeters are ready to help discover our local curiosities: boating on the West Lake, walking on the Bamboo-lined path at Yunqi and enjoying a cup of Longjing tea. Although we volunteers are not professional guides, we are enthusiastic individuals with adequate knowledge of Hangzhou and will show you the city as friends would do. If you sign up early and send us your wants, we can find good hotels, restaurants and tickets as well.

All in all, if you want a unique experience, to find places that do not appear in the tourist guidances, and to learn Hangzhou from locals’ eyes, do not hesitate to contact us and book our services!

Explore a city, with a friend.

Nicole and Lynnie came from Washington D.C., a newly married couple who are to enjoy their honeymoon in Hangzhou. Three greeters, Crystal,Vivian and Pink accompanied them to visit Lingyin area and Meijiawu TeaVillage.

Nicole and Lynnie enjoyed drawing their favorite spots on a painting album they kept along.

We were talking and laughing all the way with the company of small rain.
