The university’s New Energy Materials Research Team has published a paper titled “Heterostructured Nanoglue Design for Durable Lithium-Ion Battery Anodes” in Advanced Functional Materials, a leading international journal in the materials science field. This research introduces an innovative strategy that leverages interface engineering to strengthen the adhesion between the substrate and the heterojunction phase, thereby enhancing the structural integrity of the material. The proposed design not only generates numerous heterojunctions with continuous ion and electron transport pathways but also maintains exceptional electrochemical reversibility.

Fusion of Chinese and Romanian Cultures: A Cultural Feast Shared by Teachers and Students

The School of Foreign Languages and the Romanian Research Center of our university, in collaboration with the School of International Education, jointly organized a series of events as part of the Romanian Cultural Festival.

Among the highlights was “Dialogue Across Time and Space: China-Romania Relations in Light and Shadow”, a folk photography exhibition commemorating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Romania. Other engaging activities included the “Next Stop – Romania” themed English Corner, the “Erudite Competition”, which tested participants’ knowledge of Romanian culture, and “Romania on the Tip of the Tongue”, a hands-on workshop featuring the preparation of traditional delicacies such as Sarmale and Mulled Wine.

These events not only deepened Chinese students’ appreciation of Romanian heritage but also fostered cross-cultural exchanges, showcasing the enduring friendship between the two nations.

Recently, international students from 14 countries—including Russia, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, France, Togo, and Djibouti—embarked on an insightful visit to Xiajiang Village in Chun’an County, Hangzhou. Engaging in field studies, interviews, and research, they gained a profound understanding of the region’s commitment to sustainable development, where ecological preservation harmonizes with economic growth. Their journey offered firsthand exposure to the village’s innovative approach to rural revitalization, showcasing how environmental stewardship and industrial prosperity can coexist to forge a thriving future.

Recently, our school had the privilege of hosting a delegation of Indonesian high school students. As a long-standing partner in fostering international collaboration, Indonesia plays a pivotal role in our school’s educational exchanges and remains the largest source of international students in our institution. This visit further deepened the ties between our school and Indonesian high schools, providing the visiting students with an opportunity to explore our campus, familiarize themselves with various academic disciplines, and refine their future aspirations. This initiative not only enhances mutual understanding and cooperation but also supports our efforts to attract outstanding Indonesian students, thereby advancing the quality and global impact of our international education programs in China.

Zhejiang University of Science and Technology Hosts “Belt and Road” International Education Open Day

Recently, Zhejiang University of Science and Technology welcomed 25 representatives, including principals, admissions counseling directors, and international student exchange center directors, along with delegations from 23 educational institutions across Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, and other countries, to participate in its “Belt and Road” International Education Open Day. The event facilitated in-depth discussions on collaboration opportunities such as seamless high school-to-university pathways for international students and teacher-student exchange programs.

As the “Belt and Road” international education initiative continues to gain momentum, the university’s partnerships with Southeast Asia and Central Asia have flourished, marked by increasing frequency of exchanges and significant achievements in international student recruitment. Moving forward, the School of International Education will collaborate with various academic departments to forge new milestones in global educational cooperation, supporting the “Belt and Road” initiative and advancing China’s goal of high-level educational openness to the world.

International Students in China Experience the Allure of Rural Ecology in Anji

The International Student National Conditions Education Master Studio, in collaboration with the International Education College of Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, recently organized a field visit to Anji, Yu Village, and the China Bamboo Expo Park for 18 international students representing 17 countries. This initiative aimed to immerse participants in China’s ecological civilization framework and showcase the remarkable progress Zhejiang has achieved in rural revitalization, green development, and low-carbon living.

Through interactive activities such as guided tours, lectures, and experiential learning, the students gained a profound understanding of China’s ecological civilization initiatives. They witnessed firsthand the transformative outcomes of Zhejiang’s rural development under the guiding principles of “Two Mountains”—the idea that “green mountains and clear waters are as valuable as mountains of gold and silver.” The visit also offered insights into the diverse accomplishments of China’s rural construction efforts within the framework of the “10 Million Project,” highlighting the nation’s commitment to sustainable and harmonious development.
