Xavier Adventure is a French-Chinese company specializing in outdoor tourism. Recently, we launched, in Shanghai, a project of English hiking.
What is the English Hiking project? The principle is simple: One or two students fluent English speaking leave for a day, 3 hours from Shanghai (during the weekend) with a group of Chinese children (15-20 children) for the purpose of their to discover the basics of hiking, and the values of the environment.
You will be accompanied by a Chinese guide who speaks English and acts as a translator. Throughout this day, you will teach them the rules of hiking, train them on eco-friendly behavior and the challenges of climate change. You will also teach them how to find their way on a hiking map and how to handle the compass. Finally, you will help them to build an herbarium that will contain the majority of plants encountered during the day. Communication with them will be in English to learn their language skills.
We are looking for motivated English-speaking students who are used to hiking and who have already had contact with children.
This highly rewarding experience will allow the student to fully integrate into Chinese culture, transmit his values to Chinese children as well as discover beautiful areas near Shanghai.
The remuneration is broken down into two parts:
- At first, you will have the role of assistant. Your mission will simply be to supervise and exchange with the children. This day will serve as training before a possible upgrade. Remuneration: 400 RMB.
- In a second step, if we feel in you the potential to lead the group, you will be brought to the “master level”. You will be in charge of guiding the day and you will be in charge of coordinating all activities.
Remuneration: 800 RMB.
