Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo The 3rd Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo will be held at Xi'an Qujiang International Conference & Exhibition Center from 26 - 28 August 2016.

China’s President Mr Xi Jingping, a native of Shaanxi, has proposed building a new “Silk Road Economic Belt” during his official visit to Kazakhstan in September 2013. The main objectives of the new initiative are to connect China with countries along the ancient Silk Road and other regions in order to create new activities and programmes for greater economic development and social prosperity for all. In line with President Xi's proposal, the Shaanxi Tourism Administration organised the first China Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (CXSRITE). Organised by the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration and managed by CEMS, the new CXSRITE series aims to further explore and promote tourism and travels between China and the rest of the world. In 2016, the Shaanxi Provincial Tourism Administration announced that the show will be renamed Xi'an Silk Road International Tourism Expo (XSRITE). XSRITE aims to continue to be the biggest tourism extravaganza in Shaanxi, giving local and international exhibitors, trade and public visitors a one-stop platform to interact, network and transact.

It's official! Visitors to XSRITE 2016 will be able to understand more about Sri Lanka, and immerse themselves in the Sri Lankan culture, especially on the Country Partner Festival Day on 27 August 2016.


I can't help but wonder if I will be able to sample the famous Ceylon Tea as well. :P
