Sihailongwan Maar Lake is located in Jingyu County, Baishan City. Looking down on it from above, the lake resembles a huge round mirror nestled among dense green forests. The laminated clay at the bottom of the lake is known as a “golden key” to the earth’s labyrinth and can be used to study the paleoenvironment and paleoclimate.
The lake was formed after a volcanic eruption. The dense forest and towering ancient trees on the surrounding banks made up of clastic rock and basaltic volcanic rock form an area of undeveloped natural beauty.
