Private Half-Day Excursion to Playa Blanca & Bioluminescent Plankton Experience
Your private driver will pick you up directly from your hotel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle for a scenic drive to Barú Island.
You will arrive at the northern section of Playa Blanca, near the main beachfront area and the entrance to the Enchanted Lagoon (Laguna Encantada), the lagoon where the bioluminescent plankton phenomenon takes place. Spend the late afternoon relaxing on the white-sand beach, swimming in the crystal-clear Caribbean Sea, enjoying a tropical drink, or having dinner at a local beachfront restaurant while watching the sunset.
As darkness falls, board a small local boat for a short ride to the lagoon. Your guide will explain the science behind the phenomenon before you enter the water.
