I spent the evening at The Edge watching the sun set over a city I’ve known my entire life, and it hit me:

Sometimes we’re so busy planning the next trip that we forget to experience where we already are.

With all the energy buzzing through New York right now, this feels like the perfect summer to be a tourist in your own city.

The city feels different right now.

Maybe it’s the weather.

Maybe it’s the energy a possible Knicks championship is bringing back to New York.

Standing at The Edge, looking over a city of 8 million people, I couldn’t help but think about how many New Yorkers have never experienced some of the very places tourists fly across the world to see.

We work here.
We live here.
We rush through it.

But do we actually experience it?

This summer, take advantage of your city. Visit the observation deck. Take the ferry. Explore a neighborhood you’ve never walked through. See New York through fresh eyes.

The Knicks are giving the city something to rally around. Let that excitement be a reminder to get outside and enjoy the greatest city in the world.

New Yorkers shouldn’t wait for visitors to show them New York. 🗽✨

I hate leaving bad reviews 😭 but Captain Rib Shack in St. Martin was honestly a 4/10 for me.

The wait was INSANE. We watched people who sat after us order, get drinks, AND get their food before anyone even asked what we wanted 🥴

The live music on Thursdays definitely helps the vibe, but the food itself was just okay to me. By the end, the Haitian restaurant next door honestly looked better 🇭🇹👀

Maybe it was an off night… but this one wasn’t worth the hype for me.
