“Lunch is readyyyy.” 🍲✨

Every day around 1PM, this message appears in the Baila Viajera group chat.

And somehow… everyone makes it work.

Meetings get moved. Laptops close. People come one by one to share lunch together.

Lunch together became our little daily reset moment.

We check in about work, life, energy levels, dance plans for the night. We go over the planning of the day, who needs the quiet room for meetings, who’s tired, who’s ready for salsa and bachata.

And honestly, a big part of these moments is also thanks to our chef, who cooks for us every day with so much love. Through her meals, we’re not only sharing food together, we’re also discovering Colombian cuisine and feeling a little more at home in Medellín 🤍

It’s funny because people arrive here as strangers living together… but after a few shared lunches, it starts feeling a little like a home.

The pregame before a bachata or salsa class is dancing in the kitchen 💃✨

Before the Uber arrives, the kitchen slowly turns into a dance floor.

We start reviewing the steps from yesterday’s class. Someone else tries leading for the first time. There’s always one person counting out loud while another one is laughing because we forgot everything already.

While waiting to leave for the social, everyone ends up dancing together in the kitchen.

Then we grab our bags and head to the park for a night of bachata under the open sky of Medellin

You don’t really know each other yet…
but you the share the same passion.

You all said yes to the same crazy idea:
coming to Colombia, dancing salsa, stepping out of your comfort zone and meeting complete strangers.

And somehow one girl singing in the background while the others dance in the street suddenly makes everyone feel a little closer already 🥹

The moment you realize the “strangers” phase isn’t going to last very long 🥹

It can be scary to say yes to:
a new country,
an experience with strangers,
going out of your comfort zone,
social dancing,
or simply doing something completely different.
But somehow these chicas did 💫

And honestly… watching strangers slowly turn into friends has been one of the most beautiful parts of this trip.

No choreography.No “tourist activities.”
