Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking 2 new amigo's on a tour to El Peñol and Guatapé!

We picked our amigo's up in the morning from the airport of Medellín MDE.
Travelling can make one a bit hungry, so off to San Antonio de Pereira we went, for a typical Colombian breakfast (scrambled eggs and an arepa with cheese).

Then it was time to hop into the Dutch Paisa car and head to the old town of El Peñol.
Once there, we enjoyed the first sights of the lake and had a stroll through the souvenir shops.

Next on the planning was the rock of El Peñol.
Prepared with enough sunscreen and water for along the way, our amigo's climbed the 740 stairs to the top and were amazed by the stunning view over the lake.

Once with 2 feet back on the ground, we continued our trip to Guatapé to have a lunch and a walk through the town, enjoying the colourfull houses and some drinks.

Our amigo's had to get to their next adventure in the jungle of Rio Claro, so we took them to Marinilla to take the bus.
We will see them again coming friday in our finca Nativo Errante, so... hasta pronto, amigo's!

Do you know what empanadas are? Little pastries from corn dough with meat, veggies and fruit in it! Last weekend we had this great festival de las empanadas. Where you could taste all types of empanadas!! If you come you should taste them!

26-07-2017 Tour El Peñol & Guatapé.

We left at 09.00 from our hostel Nativo Errante. After some quick stops at the supermarket, we were on our way to the replica of the old town of El Peñol.

Once arrived, our amigo's could enjoy the first views of the Guatapé lake, stroll through the souvenir shops and take interest in the buildings of the old town of El Peñol.

Then it was time to head on to the Guatapé rock and let our amigo's climb the 740 steps to get to the top of the rock! Such a stunning view when you're at the top of the rock and looking over the Guatapé lake.. 😍

Hungry? Yes we were! Time for a delicious lunch in the town of Guatapé, followed by a relaxed stroll in the town. In the town' s center you can find a lot of colourfull houses in narrow streets and at the colourfull steps, we sat down for a cup of authentic Colombian coffee. Muy rica!

Off to the car it was. We were driving along the gorgeous countryside, the sun was shining; a great setting for some refreshments! Heading for the town of Marinilla, where our amigo's could enjoy some cerveza's on the terras in the town's center.

17.00. Time to head back to the hostel Nativo Errante. Looking back on a great day! Got freshend up and ready for dinner in the town of San Antonio de Pereira. But that's a story for another time... 😉

In this beautiful, spacious finca, there will be a hostel opened by our partners Risbo Bass and Rosana Becle.
Idealy located at a 5 minute drive from the airport Medellín MDE, but also quiet and in a beautiful surrounding.

Next to a tour with The Dutch Paisa, we can also offer you a place to stay for the night(s), so a total package!
