🐠 El pez loro es uno de los grandes aliados de los arrecifes coralinos.
Se alimenta de algas que, si crecen sin control, pueden ahogar a los corales. Gracias a él, los arrecifes se mantienen sanos y llenos de vida.
Sin pez loro, no hay coral… y sin coral, no hay pesca ni turismo sostenible.
Protegerlo es proteger el futuro del mar en la Reserva de Biosfera Seaflower. Su veda dura todo el año.
Meet the unsung heroes of our reefs: The Parrotfish! 🐠🦸
They eat the algae that chokes corals. Without them, our reefs die. No coral = No fishing, no tourism.
Protecting them is non-negotiable for Seaflower's future. Parrotfish are protected ALL YEAR.

El Proyecto GEF-Seaflower es liderado por el Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible y coejecutado por CORALINA y Conservación Internacional. Cuenta además con la Gobernación del Archipiélago y la Alcaldía de Providencia y Santa Catalina como socios estratégicos, y con WWF en calidad de agencia implementadora.
The GEF-Seaflower Project is led by the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and co-executed by CORALINA and Conservation International. The Government of the Archipelago and the Municipality of Providencia and Santa Catalina serve as strategic partners, while WWF acts as the implementing agency.
El proyecto se desarrolla con la participación activa de diversas instituciones y actores locales, destacando el rol fundamental de la comunidad raizal, cuyo conocimiento tradicional y vínculo cultural con el territorio fortalecen la gestión de la Reserva de Biosfera Seaflower.
The project is carried out with the active participation of various institutions and community actors, highlighting the fundamental role of the Raizal community, whose traditional knowledge and cultural ties to the territory strengthen the management of the Seaflower Biosphere Reserve.
