Sometimes, bikepacking doesn’t go exactly as planned. 🚲 Lianne and Devin came to Colombia from the Netherlands to ride Ruta del Dorado. Lianne rode one of our rental bikes, while Devin brought his own bike from home. On day 3, Devin’s bike had a serious problem: the fork broke near Guatavita. Luckily, they were part of our WhatsApp group, where we stay in touch with our riders while they’re on the route. They sent us their location, and we checked that Devin was okay. That same evening, we took another bike to Guatavita so Devin could keep riding, while we brought his damaged bike back to Bogotá. Later, we also coordinated getting his bike back to the Netherlands. Because for us, renting a bike isn’t just about handing over the keys and saying goodbye. We want you to know there’s someone on the other side of the phone if something unexpected happens on the road. The best bikepacking stories aren’t always the ones that go perfectly. Sometimes, they’re the ones you remember because someone had your back. Would you feel more confident exploring Colombia by bike knowing you have someone to reach out to when things get complicated? ❤
