"[Brockell] Knows her stuff. Her retreats are just what they are supposed to be. I felt held, supported. It was perfectly laid out. She's meticulous. And...I feel...Like I've come home to myself. It's a beautiful difference."
These are just a few highlights of what a a dear friend and mentee of mine recently said after our retreat experience together in Costa Rica.
As I reflect on the past 10 years of learning to lead retreats and step into my leadership, I'm awed, inspired, and deeply humbled by the journey that has unfolded to get me to where I am now.
Building anything takes time. It takes dedication, persistence, and perseverance. At the age of 41 now - It's wisdom on my side that informs me to say, that I think it takes about a decade to truly master anything.
I still have a lot to learn on this journey of what I like to call "sacred stewardship," of creating and holding transformative containers for my retreat students and clients.
However, after my first decade of leading retreats, I can honestly say that there are a few things now within the retreat space that I do feel like I've mastered.
Hearing her say that I'm "meticulous" makes me feel deeply seen. Listening to her experience of 'feeling held, supported, and cared for' reflects that my meticulous level of care for what is actually, truly important in a retreat, is being received.
Over the years, I've been doing a dance of letting go of my personal perfectionism in the retreat space in order to serve the greater good. And what I've found throughout this process of letting go, of personal growth and change, is that I now hold what I believe to be a sacred - and skillful - level of mastery that is needed for the meticulous level of detail to properly hold a retreat container and retreat space.
Curating these events to be sacred vessels and portals to transformation is part of the the work. It's part of my art and part of the craft that I'm passionate about. And I'd love to share one of these experiences or opportunities with you.
If you're a woman+ who's ready to 'come home'; if you're going through some kind of a transition and are looking for a way to get out of your comfort zone, and ready to make a change in your life or need to shake-up (and wake up) your routine, then I'd like to invite you to join me on an upcoming retreat.
The doors are open for this summer's Iceland, Switzerland, and Costa Rica (2025) retreats. If you want the details and want to experience this alchemy for yourself, comment the word "Retreat" and I'll send you the info.
I would LOVE To be your guide on this journey of coming home to - and becoming - who you bravely, boldly, and unapologetically, are born to be.
