The Rio Celeste turns literally blue in front of your eyes due to the sulfur from the volcano and precipitation of calcium carbonate. One of the the highlights of visiting the park is to finally reach the waterfall!!!!!!
It is stuning to see the color of the water against the lush green vegetation that surrounds the river.

Created in 1994, The Ostional Wildlife Refuge protects the nesting sites of the olive ridley sea turtle.

Turtles come ashore here to nest all year round, but rainy season sees arrivals in much greater numbers. From August these Arribadas or 'mass arrivals' can occur regularly once or sometimes twice a month. Hundreds of thousands of turtles may come ashore over a period of 3-7 days.
