El tamandúa mexicano (Tamandua mexicana) es un oso hormiguero pequeño y ágil 🌿
Usa su lengua larga y pegajosa para alimentarse de hormigas y termitas, y sus fuertes garras para defenderse.

🌙 Es nocturno, solitario y clave para el equilibrio del ecosistema.
🐾 Uno de los tantos animales que vimos hoy en la caminata del sendero del Jaguar en Tortuguero.

The Mexican tamandua (Tamandua mexicana) is a small and agile anteater 🌿
It uses its long, sticky tongue to feed on ants and termites and its strong claws for defense.

🌙 Nocturnal, solitary, and important for ecosystem balance.
🐾 One of the many animals we spotted today during the Jaguar Trail hike in Tortuguero.

🌿♻️ Cuidando Tortuguero juntos

Ayer se realizó una jornada de limpieza de playa organizada por ASVO Tortuguero (Asociación de Voluntarios para el Servicio en las Áreas Protegidas).

Desde Jairo Nature Tours convoqué a guías de turismo de la comunidad para apoyar esta iniciativa de conservación. En esta ocasión el guía Fabián pudo acompañarnos en la jornada.

Para nosotros, ser guías no solo significa mostrar la increíble vida silvestre de Tortuguero, sino también proteger el lugar que compartimos con el mundo.

Cada pequeño esfuerzo cuenta para mantener este paraíso natural.

🌿♻️ Protecting Tortuguero together

Yesterday a beach cleanup was organized by ASVO Tortuguero (Association of Volunteers for Service in Protected Areas).

Through Jairo Nature Tours, I invited local tour guides to support this conservation initiative. On this occasion, tour guide Fabián was able to join the cleanup.

For us, being guides means more than showing wildlife — it also means helping protect the ecosystem that makes Tortuguero so special.

Every small action helps preserve this natural paradise.

Some days in Tortuguero just flow differently. 🌿

While guiding a daytime walk, I unexpectedly crossed paths with volunteers from ASVO. What started as a regular tour turned into something much more meaningful.

Chiara had the opportunity to plant an Icaco tree and share that special moment with the volunteers working to protect this beautiful place. No planning, no script — just one of those authentic Tortuguero moments that happen naturally.

Now there’s a new tree growing here… and a story rooted in this little paradise. 🌱✨

25 de noviembre 2025 Un día perfecto para recorrer los canales de Tortuguero en canoa.
En el silencio del agua aparecen verdades que pasan desapercibidas en el ruido:
hay presencias que acompañan… y otras que simplemente están.
Y en ese contraste se entiende que quien quiere ser parte de todos, a veces no es parte de nadie.
La naturaleza susurra aquello que sólo el alma alcanza a oír. November 25th, 2025 — A perfect day to explore the Tortuguero canals by canoe.
In the silence of the water, truths appear that go unnoticed in the noise:
there are presences that truly accompany… and others that simply exist.
