It’s been a real journey, life experience and a work in progress since we first opened our doors but as ‘green season’ now begins, we wanna know what we should add next to our little nest in the jungle?

One of this summer’s new additions is the ‘semi-alfresco’ welcome lounge area…

So while we’re still waiting for our bamboo shoe rack, coconut fibre door mat and a few other locally crafted treats to finish off this new chill space, the view and those welcome sea breezes are very much already in place… 🙏

So whether you’re after a cool space to lounge with a p**a and avoid the midday sun or perhaps a large covered space to do some yoga or enjoy a couple’s massage, we’re hoping this is yet another welcome addition. There’s even the idea that it becomes an additional bedroom for a last-minute extra guest…

The only thing we’re not 100% clear on is what to call the space - after all it’s becoming so much more than a lounge :)

It’s now almost a month since I left my pura vida tribe and I’ve been meaning to post this since the day I left…

With daily papayas & p**as from the garden, my body and mind has been spoilt. Morning visits from Tio (the increasingly greedy pizote), waking up super early with the howler monkeys and that last morning when 25 Toucans (still not sure how I counted but hey) flew so elegantly past the wrap-around deck - I’ve genuinely never seen more than two at any one time in 20+ years visiting and living in Costa Rica!

But the real purpose of this post is one of gratitude and love… to my wonderful team up at the lodge (Juanca & Ester) but also our extended Tribe and family in Tres Rios, Coronado, Ojochal, Uvita, Domi, Perez and all the way back up in Chepe! Thanks for the love, the laughs, your generosity and the PURA VIDA that is ubiquitously Costa Rica.

ES: Gracias por el amor, las risas, su genorisidad y la pura vida que es ubicuamente COSTA RICA!

530pm right infront of the lodge and absolutely required! My favourite view in the world, Rio Terraba and the Pacific Ocean’s Isla del Caño…

A pretty productive Day 04 in the end as our new contrast hydrotherapy tubs by the alfresco lounge are starting to take shape. Had a cheeky dip the other day but the ‘full experience’ will have to wait a little while longer until the decks are completely down and the last couple layers of varnish applied…

After yesterday’s off-road adventure up to in Perez Zeledon, the crew and I are taking a well deserved rest-day before starting again at the crack of dawn mañana

While I obviously can’t wait to finish off our contrast hydrotherapy tubs and get a better handle on the seemingly never-ending list of maintenance jobs after a particularly heavy ‘green season’,, from the moment I woke with the howlers, definitely feeling the need to chill and disconnect today…
