Another last day of school beach day with the older students from Centro Educativo Costa Ballena (Escuela Verde).
The students enjoyed the sun and sand of Marino Ballena National Park while hiking in the park, paddling in the mangrove estuary and kayaking on the ocean. What a great way to end the school year!

Otro último día de playa con los alumnos mayores del Centro Educativo Costa Ballena (Escuela Verde). Los estudiantes disfrutaron del sol y la arena del Parque Nacional Marino Ballena mientras practicaban senderismo, remaban en el estuario de manglares y navegaban en kayak por el océano. ¡Qué gran manera de terminar el año escolar!

Two black vultures came to enjoy the river mouth with us.

Or maybe they are are contemplating the impending rain surrounding them.

On this day, and many, it was raining everywhere else except in the bubble of Matapalo.

We don’t understand why Matapalo is so protected from the rains, but we are grateful!

Dos zopilotes negros vinieron a disfrutar de la desembocadura del río con nosotros.

O tal vez estén contemplando la lluvia inminente que los rodea.

Ese día, como muchos otros, llovía en todas partes menos en la burbuja de Matapalo.

No entendemos por qué Matapalo está tan protegido de las lluvias, ¡pero estamos agradecidos!

Who is ready to get back out on the ocean?

We are! Starting December 1st, our ocean tours will be available again, until the end of April.

The reason we don’t offer these tours all year is because our incredible Southern Pacific coast gets quite big during the rainy season, with huge swells and currents.

Take advantage of the ocean tours while you can!
