Wink the white lipped peccary meets Timmy the tapir. (These are wild animals, not pets. We are a remote lodge right next to the forest. Wild animals hang out in the yard every day. Our yard is the forest.) We are not a zoo, nor do we claim to be. Wild animal sightings are not garunteed. Our conservation efforts have helped to make animal sightings like this possible. 🙌

Puma update! Check out these incredible photos taken by during his stay at the lodge! The puma with the chipped ear is easily recognisable as the same puma that we posted about back in 2021! These two have been observed together for years on the property since they were babies.

What should we name them?? Tell us in the comments.

In June, a tiny, injured white-lipped peccary wandered onto the grounds of the Jaguar’s Jungle Lodge. He was just a few days old, alone, and had a hole all the way through his leg. We named him Wink, and over the next few months, we dedicated ourselves to his rehabilitation. Against all odds, his leg completely healed, and he grew into the most playful, energetic peccary you could ever meet.

But now, Wink needs our help again. 🆘 MINAE has taken him and placed him in a wildlife rescue center, but his current enclosure could be better. White-lipped peccaries are endangered, and Wink has the potential to be part of a breeding program to help repopulate this species in the wild—but he needs proper space, enrichment, and care to thrive. The sanctuary he was placed in is underfunded but willing to accept help.

That’s why we’re launching a GoFundMe campaign to build Wink the best, most enriching enclosure possible—one where he can run, root, and live his best peccary life.

We have officially closed the shared hostel dormitory and fully embraced the serenity and connection with nature that our new glamping setups have to offer. With fewer guests and higher quality accomodate, we can focus evermore on providing the best quest experience!

Glamping is only available Dec 15- April 15th! There are only 2 tents on our point overlooking Cano Island. Better reserve ASAP.
