I’m not sure if the male mantis would agree Oscar Wilde’s quote “After a good dinner, one can forgive anybody, even one’s own relations”, knowing that female occasionally eat their mate during or after the act… head first 😱!
The camouflage, both passively by blending in and active mimicry by swaying, of the is still amazing and make them dreadful hunters of other insects!
This species can easiest be observed hunting by night in humid ecosystems around artificially illuminated places like where you dine yourself….
