We're nearer the lake, looking out to Arenal volcano, an appx 30-minute drive from La Fortuna. It's way more than beautiful butterflies. The Butterfly Conservatory is a Nature Regeneration Project, dedicated to the preservation, growth, and study of the rainforest: your visit %100 sustains the project. We focus on butterflies, our insect museum and other tropical rainforest species, and plants of

the Arenal region. As the largest exhibition of butterflies in Costa Rica, we're a learning center for understanding the incredible metamorphosis experience of the Butterfly life-cycle. There are two tour options, for all ages, both interactive and educational. Our website has details on volunteers, students, researchers, and scientists, plus our “Butterfly Rearing” internship. Arrive to a backdrop of magnificent views of the Arenal volcano and Lake. Bring the family, snap your selfies, and have a leisurely stroll through our trails!
