The Life of a Cicada
A cicada lives most of its life underground as a nymph, feeding on tree roots. Some stay there for years. When they’re ready, they come out, shed their skin, and become adults.
Adults live only a few weeks. They sing, mate, and lay eggs. Then the cycle starts again.
During our jungle night tour we got this beautiful image of the exact moment when it was getting out of the shell and transforming into a flying Cicada.
