May to July is one of our favorite times in Costa Rica. Less tourists and great weather, but the vibe is always nice up at our house and the view is epic whenever you visit.

The yellow tree is our Coteza tree, a beautiful and even sacred tropical hardwood tree that blooms yellow flowers for Holy Week. It only blooms for about a week so you have to get lucky to hit it. This year it happened on the 3rd week of April.

We are insanely jealous of our vacation renters right now. North American winter is Costa Rican summer. I miss the warmth and the simple elegance of our house. It’s always a treat to come back to Casa Corteza though. Just a few more months in the tundra of So Cal. 😂
